Sunrise at Scenic Event: October 4, 2020

We celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Scenic Drive with a sunrise and Mariachi music…

On Sunday, October 4th, the Sunrise Civic Group in partnership with the Departments of Parks & Recreation and Museum and Cultural Affairs celebrated the sunrise in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Scenic Drive. As the sun rose at 7:03am, the public enjoyed the unique sound of Mariachi Paso del Norte in performing "Minas de Cobre" a musical piece by Grammy-nominated Calexico. Mayor Dee Margo and City Representatives of District 1 and 2, Peter Svarzbein and Alexsandra Annello, each spoke of the history of this unique location for El Paso. The beautiful morning as part of Scenic Sunday's was enjoyed all morning by those on foot and cycle.
